…history of Paradisos
Tavern «Paradisos» was born in 1965 when our grandfather Yiorgos (George) decided to lease a shop of Tsagarada Community near the central square of Agia Paraskevi, and turn it into a grocery – tavern.
In 1967, being perceptive, begins the construction of a fully owned store very close to the existing, in order to relocate the business as soon as possible.
In 1969, after much of an effort and personal work of himself and his family, the store was ready to open under the name «Cafe-Zyth-Estiatorion Paradisos» (Coffee – Beer – Restaurant Paradise).
Godfather of the business name was grandfather Yiorgos himself. Several years later, grandmother Filitsa (Felitsia) revealed that grandfather Yiorgos had this name in mind while the first year of grocery – tavern shop. Apparently, one of the guests during the summer as he was drinking tsipouro under the plane trees, says: "Yiorgos, this place you live is like Paradise, Paradise on earth…”
Meanwhile, the three sons of grandfather Yiorgos and grandmother Filitsa, Nikos, Vangelis, Theodore take over the operation and the development of the business.
In 1975 the three brothers started the expansion of the building having as a target the creation of a hotel complex, one of the first in Tsagarada and the wider region of Pelion.
In June of 1980 the hotel is completed and ready to operate for the upcoming season.
Over since, there have been several changes, the most important of these is the entry of the third generation in the business and the constant evolution.
If there is something, among other, for which we are proud of, is our commitment to Traditional Pelion Cuisine just like grandmother Filitsa taught her brides Helen and Spiridoula, and they passed it to their children and grandchildren.
