The botanical tradition of Pelion…
At «AMANITA» Guesthouse you can find experiential activities, which present you the primal botanological tradition of Pelion and associate it with the contemporary use of herbs in treatment and cooking.
The programs, which will be available from 20th of April till 10th of October 2016, are the following:
Herb garden...
Getting to know the herbs and the botanological tradition of Pelion.
A visit to the Amanita herb garden, a tour in the garden and the herb and spice cultivation.
A presentation of the perennial tradition of botanotherapy in Pelion and the use of herbs in cooking.
Basic principles of herbal preparations.
Tasting botanical teas and assortments.
Duration: 2 hours
Location: Amanita Perivoli (organic garden)
Cost: 15 euro/person
Minimum number of participants: 4 persons
Herb walk...
Getting to know the herbs, the botanological tradition of Pelion and herb walk.
A visit to Amanita garden, a garden tour, a visit in the herb and spice cultivation.
A presentation of the perennial tradition of botanotherapy in Pelio and the use of herbs in cooking.
Botanological walk including the identification and presentation of wild herbs and seasonal pharmaceutical plants.
Return to Amanita and presentation of the basic principles of herbal preparations. Tasting botanical teas and assortments.
Duration: 3 - 3 ½ hours
Location: Amanita Perivoli (organic garden) and the paths of Tsagarada
Cost: 25 euro/person
Minimum number of participants: 7 persons
Culinary herbs...
Presentation of the usage of herbs and plants in the forgotten culinary tradition of Pelion.
A visit in Amanita garden, a tour in the garden and the cultivation of herbs and spices.
Presentation of the use of herbs and spices in the local cuisine.
Preparation of simple recipes of Pelio with herbs and spices.
Plain meal with the foods we prepared and local wine.
Duration: 4 hours
