The routes that Mr. Nicolas Melis suggests are:
Tsagarada round route...
This is an enchanting round route, using the village’s kalderimia. We will make a tour of the districts of Tsagarada, each with their distinctive country planning, through rich gardens, past old mansions and through chestnut forests.
We will rest under the 1000 years old plane trees in the wonderful squares, we will freshen up at the elaborate fountains; we will admire the great views and wild beauty of the Milopotamos Gorge from «Koutra hill» view point, while learning about the village’s history and architecture.
Duration: 3 ½ hours approximately
Starting point: Agioi Taxiarches square
Tsagarada - Damouchari - Fakistra...
Following the main kalderimi, which for centuries was used to connect the villages of East Pelion with the Pagasitic Golf, and having as our starting point Agioi Taxiarches square in Tsagarada, we will cross the village while learning a tittle about its history.
After an hourly enjoyable walk, we will leave Agia Kiriaki square behind us, and within 15 minutes we will be descending the legendary «Kagiolia» (a cobbled path built in the 17th century), to end up on Damouchari beach.
After a short rest, we will join the coastal path heading south and after visiting Agios Athanasios and «Krifo Scholio» (Secret School) cave, we will end up on Fakistra beach.
Duration: 4 hours approximately
Starting point: Agioi Taxiarches square
Depending on the season, the sea condition and under arrangement with «Pelion Secrets», the return from Damouchari might be possible with canoe kayak.
Milies - Xourichti - Tsagarada...
The most classic Pelion route, it covers a great part of the main kalderimi connecting the Pagasitic Gulf with the northern coast of the Pelion Peninsula, which was used as the main route for the secluded East Pelion villages.
Duration: 4 ½ hours approximately
Starting point: Milies main square
