The meeting point for athletes worldwide…
The 2nd festival of mountaineering and marine sports of Tsagarada took place within Thursday the 26th to Sunday the 29th of June 2014, by the Tourism and Development Association of Tsagarada.
During the four-day event 10 outdoor activities were available, such as:
- canyoning
- climbing
- mountain biking
- canoe kayak (sea kayaking)
- flying fox (120m)
- horse ridding
- archery
- trekking
- coasteering
- mountain running (7km)
- mountain running (10km)
All outdoor activities were designed and executed by specialised high-level trainers and instructors, such as: Nikos Magitsis (climbing, mountain running), Anastasios Apokremiotis (canyoning), Alexandros Petroutsos (mountain biking), Miltos Rigopoulos (archery), Thanos Nikakis (canoe kayak).
After the admittedly successful first edition of the festival, which laid the foundation for an event with a focus on outdoor activities, it is now the time for follow-up and improvement.
This year's event were consist of three major additions:
- The first relates to climbing, plaques will be awarded to those experienced climbers who wish to open new routes during the festival.
- The second relates to mountain biking, Downhill route will be developed, which will remain for use after the end of festival.
- The third relates to a fairly new outdoor activity, it is called Coasteering and it is a physical activity that encompasses movement along the intertidal zone of a rocky coastline on foot or by swimming, without the aid of boats, surf boards or other craft.
As in last year's event, businesses of the Tourism and Development Association of Tsagarada, have provided preferential rates and offers for visitors while the duration of the festival.
Everyone was invited to this four-day adventure, which has combined relaxing holidays in magical Tsagarada at eastern Pelion, with the excitement of watching or taking part in spectacular extreme sports activities and other thematic events!!!
