The cultural heritage of Tsagarada…

Profitis Ilias chapel in Tsagarada, PelionProfitis Ilias chapel is located at the highest point of Agioi Taxiarches district deep inside the forest of oak and chestnut trees.

Construction of the chapel is placed in 1898 as evidenced by the sign situated above the entrance of the chapel, the expense and supervision was under K. N. Dianellou.

Profitis Ilias can be reached by following the road that starts from the district of Agioi Taxiarches.

The area around the chapel has been formed with wooden tables and benches and during the celebration a festival is organised where numerous residents from Tsagarada as well as the surrounding villages are gathering.
In the past, the festival was organised in the central square of the district as part of the celebration, but nowadays the custom has faded.
